Claire
Things I appreciate about having a little girl:
She immediately says she's sorry if she thinks she's hurt you in any way.
She begins every answer with "because I..."
She sleeps in her favorite dress, shoes, and holding a purse.
She picks out a certain outfit claiming she has to wear it because it is "so cute."
She can sit in my lap at rest for extended periods of time.
We can shop together and get excited about cute outfits and shoes then she tells me how pretty I look.
She will sit and color.
She is so gentle and great at sharing...for a 2 year old.
She loves to hug and kiss and yet she can wrestle and play with Zac.
Now don't get me wrong, I love having a wild, imaginative, inquisitive boy like Zac as mentioned in previous blog entries! But last Sunday while Eric and I sat at church during Zac's choir rehearsal with Claire peacefully in our laps I watched my dear friend who has a boy the same age as Claire chase her son all around the room. I immediately giggle because, first of all, he is so funny. But then I stop smiling and put my hands to my stomach because...oh crap! I get to do that all over again! But I honestly can't wait!

Post Amendment
While putting Claire to bed the other night I asked her if she was excited to have a baby brother. Her reply, "No. I want a girl."
So much for her not having an opinion. Oh well, she'll adjust!

IT'S A BOY!
It is official. Baby #3 is definitely a boy. (See photo!) This totally shoots down the theory that you feel great with a boy and crappy with a girl because I have now felt crappy with both! But last week I started feeling much better and now tonight with this good news, and the fact that all body parts are accounted for, I feel fabulous! Claire really doesn't grasp the whole situation and doesn't understand why we can't have the baby NOW! But earlier today when I put Zac down for nap I reminded him that I was going to the doctor. He told me that he wants a brother! I reminded him that it may be a sister and how wonderful that would be... He said that he doesn't want a sister because they drool on him. Well now he is going to have the brother he wanted and I'm sure he too will drool on Zac!
Please write with name suggestions. We need help!

Zac's 5!
Tuesday November 4th, 2008 will be remembered forever as a historical day in history. Our country came together and elected a great man to be our president, Barack Obama! There are no words for how excited I am!
But yesterday was also my baby's 5th birthday. On Monday when I reminded Zac that it was his last day as a four year old, he told me that he would start listening to me tomorrow. Of course that didn't last long. Tuesday morning I did the mom thing and took cupcakes to Zac's classroom. As soon as I walked in the door he yelled, "I love you mommy!" I melted of course. His class was so cute and very thankful for the yummy cupcakes. I'm sure their parents were not that thankful when they came home with their faces stained with blue frosting. Oops!
That night we ate Zac's requested dinner of pizza and tried our best to celebrate while CNN played in the background. Claire went to bed at her usual 8:00 but we let Zac stay awake to watch Obama make his first speech as president elect. We attempted to explain to Zac how his 5th birthday is also a historic event. Eric and I watched the television and sobbed like babies. Zac just played with his new toys not understanding the enormity of it all. I'm sure some day he will "get it" and think it's as cool we do!
Happy Birthday Buddy!
